Broad, rounded form, open, airy branching. Bark is dark brown, smooth. Leaves are rounded to heart-shaped, bluish-green above, whitish beneath, and purplish when emerging. The trunk is often divided close to the ground. Does well in many soil types except permanently wet soils. Adaptable to acidic or alkaline soils. Full sun or light shade.
May need to prune out dead wood inside of canopy
